The only thing that I can think of is that I recently had a bad case of malware which prevented windows updates and I had a lot of popups. If you want to use the default Windows CD player ensure that within the "Application used to perform the action" section is c:\windows\cdplayer.exe -play . If you want to permanently disable the AutoPlay feature follow the steps below for your version of Microsoft Windows. A case like this could easily cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. My CD-ROM then ran automatically, using the program I associated with it on the AutoPlay tab. Enable AutoPlay on CD drive and other drives Download and install TweakUI.
In the CD-ROM properties click the Settings Tab and verify that there is a check within the Auto Insert Notification section. Any other media players, CD/DVD players or burners or whatnot running?
